Efterklang

Tripper has been waiting for a listening for much too long. What an astonishingly beautiful record this is! It's everything I like about progressive pop music. It's a bit sad and elegiac, it's dark but still hopeful, the vocals are mixed female and male, it encapsulates electronics without being obtrusive, it brings together classical, experimental, songwriting and deeply felt emotions. And it surprises. It's unbelievably perfect. Stereolab could sound like this if they'd shake off their artistic cul-de-sac Neu! obsession.
